Fortnite x South Park: How the Free Born in Chaos Event Works

Epic Games and the creators of South Park have just launched one of the most anticipated collaborations of 2026. The Fortnite South Park Born in Chaos event officially started this Friday, January 9th, and promises to shake up the island until February 5th. Therefore, the big news is that the thematic Battle Pass, called the Born in Chaos Pass, is available for free to all players, with no need to spend V-Bucks. In this way, the company offers 13 cosmetic items for those who complete the special missions, merging the chaotic universe of South Park with the popular battle royale.
To enjoy the collaboration, players need to access the Born in Chaos tab in the main menu. There, they will find a series of thematic missions that, when completed, unlock rewards such as the Cheesy Poofs Rocketship emote, the Terrance and Phillip pickaxe, and the Backpack of CRED. Furthermore, completing all objectives guarantees the Imaginationland Airship glider, the most coveted item of the pass. The progression system works with a currency called CRED, which you accumulate by finishing tasks, and also with Memberberries, special items obtained by clearing four missions from each part of the event.
Gameplay and Map News
The crossover doesn’t stop at cosmetics, as it also transforms gameplay. Scheduled to last the entire event period, a new mode called Quints allows forming squads of five players, increasing the chaos in matches. Meanwhile, legendary South Park-themed items arrive on the island. The Staff of Truth, for example, gives the player control of the storm for the first time in the game’s history. However, it has a single use, requiring strategy. You can also use Cheesy Poofs to heal allies or damage opponents, and Kenny’s Respawn Token guarantees an automatic revival after being eliminated, but it is also disposable.
To explore the new features, players should head to the northwest of the island, where there is now a completely new point of interest: Cartmanland. This Eric Cartman theme park offers interactive attractions, such as Chaos Blast and Pi Pi’s Splash Town, which promise lots of fun and, of course, chaos during matches. Despite this, it’s worth remembering that this 5-player Quints mode may become permanent, as one of Fortnite’s leaders suggested the feature will continue if it is well received by the community. Therefore, January 2026 will be a memorable month for fans of both franchises in Brazil.
