Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP and LoveR Kiss Arrive on Switch 2 with New Features

Fans of classic games and simulations have a good reason to celebrate in early 2026. This is because Dragami Games announced that the games Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP and LoveR Kiss: Endless Memories will have optimized versions for the Switch 2. The news comes as the market awaits the successor to Nintendo’s hybrid console, expected to arrive in Brazil later this year. Both versions for the new hardware, which are already available for physical pre-order in Japan, promise not only enhanced performance but also exclusive content, reinforcing the trend of bringing classic experiences to new generations of players.
The highlight is the cult classic Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, a remaster of the 2012 title that united the creative minds of Suda51 and James Gunn. The Switch 2 version will bring a brand new and exclusive game mode, the “Gun Shooting Mode”, where players will face hordes of zombies in stages with three waves each. Furthermore, an upgrade pass will be offered to those who already own the original Switch version. On the other hand, LoveR Kiss expands its romantic offering with the teacher Himari Saiki, solidifying itself as one of the leading dating simulators on the market. Both titles will support multiple languages, including Portuguese subtitles, and the zombie game will also feature English audio, making it more accessible for the Brazilian audience.
From Past to Future: The Trajectory of a Cult Classic
The announcement comes after a successful path for the remaster. Since its digital release in September 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP has sold over 200,000 copies globally, a significant number for a specific niche. Dragami Games CEO Yoshimi Yasuda, who purchased the IP in 2022, describes this as the “definitive version,” focused on quality-of-life improvements and extra content, without altering the original story. It is important to note, however, that neither Suda51 nor James Gunn were directly involved in this remaster, which was handled by a mixed team from the original developer and Dragami.
Looking to the future, the Lollipop Chainsaw universe promises to expand even further. A partnership with Nada Holdings, announced last July, plans for a new game and an anime adaptation. The Taiwanese company drew attention by stating that the project will not impose “excessive creative restrictions in the name of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion),” although it did not detail how this philosophy will materialize in practice. Meanwhile, the release of these versions for the Switch 2 demonstrates a clear strategy of revitalizing dormant franchises, offering modern players the chance to relive or discover titles that were iconic in their time, now with the polish and features of new-generation consoles.
