Mario Tennis Fever gets trailer detailing modes, characters, and special rackets

Mario Tennis Fever has received a detailed trailer showcasing everything Brazilian fans can expect from the new evolution of Nintendo’s tennis franchise. The Japanese company released a video late last week that introduces the new game modes, the so-called Fever Rackets, and new characters like Goomba, Nabbit, and the hilarious Baby Waluigi. Scheduled for release on February 12, 2026, the game arrives exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 and promises to revolutionize the experience with creative mechanics.
The main highlight is the Fever Rackets, items that grant special powers to the tennis players, such as fire, ice, shrinking, or even the ability to create clones. In this way, Nintendo seeks to renew on-court combat. Furthermore, the game will bring support for Mario series amiibo, which will unlock themed tennis balls, a detail collectors will love.
Game modes for all styles
Beyond the classic Tournament, Mario Tennis Fever offers a wide variety of options. Players can challenge themselves in the Trial Towers, experience the chaos in the Mix It Up modes – which include matches on courts with Wonder Effects, inspired by Super Mario Bros. Wonder – and compete online in Rooms and Ranked Matches. For those who enjoy motion controls, the Swing mode is also back. However, the big news might be the Adventure mode, where the characters turn into babies and need to relearn how to play tennis to defeat monsters, a hilarious and promising premise.
The series thus resumes a more elaborate story mode, something not seen since Mario Tennis: Power Tour on the Game Boy Advance. With 38 playable characters and 30 distinct Fever Rackets, the content promises to keep fans entertained for a long time. The new courts, such as Forest Court, Pinball, and Racket Factory Matches, along with the return of the classic Ring Shot, complete a robust package. So, in January 2026, the anticipation only grows for Mario and his crew to once again dominate the virtual courts with this new title full of energy.
