Former BBB contestant reveals lack of neurological exams on reality show after Castelli’s seizures

BBB 26 and the health of the participants came into focus this Wednesday, January 14, 2026, after actor Henri Castelli, 47, suffered two seizures inside the confinement. The winner of BBB 14, Vanessa Mesquita, 39, revealed during the CNN live show “Papo Pop” which exams are performed on participants before they enter the house. According to her, despite an extensive battery of check-ups, neurological imaging exams, such as a cranial tomography or MRI, are not performed. This information gains immediate relevance, as it raises questions about the reality show’s medical preparedness for emergencies and about the possible pre-existing conditions of the brothers.
Vanessa Mesquita explained how the process works, detailing that participants undergo evaluations “from the scalp to the tip of the toe.” However, due to the absence of specific head exams, she speculated whether Castelli’s problem could have been “developed inside” or if it was an unknown condition triggered by the intense stress of the endurance challenge. Therefore, the case goes beyond entertainment and touches on a crucial point: the production’s responsibility for the physical and mental well-being of the confined individuals.
Papo Pop and Specialized Coverage
The program where the revelation was made, “Papo Pop,” is a weekly live broadcast on CNN Pop’s YouTube channel, dedicated exclusively to covering BBB 26. Hosted by journalist Felipe Carvalho and Vanessa Mesquita herself, the format brings a former participant every week to analyze the game, the behind-the-scenes, and the behavior in the house. In this way, the live show offers a unique perspective from those who have already experienced the confinement, mixing entertainment with in-depth analysis.
In addition to the live broadcasts, the project features weekly columns signed by Vanessa and complementary content on social media. This creates continuous and accessible coverage for fans who follow the reality show throughout the week. The participation of former brothers, therefore, is not limited to superficial comments, but contributes with strategic readings and opinions based on the real experience of the game.
The future of Henri Castelli in the program, however, remains open. Vanessa questioned during the live show whether, after the second seizure — which likely took him to a hospital — he will be able to continue in the reality show for health reasons. This uncertainty leaves a question mark over the unfolding of the game and, mainly, over the review of the medical protocols adopted by the Big Brother Brasil production. Thus, Castelli’s case could be a milestone for changes in the screening of future participants.
