Anime The Moon on a Rainy Night Reveals Visual and Main Staff

The Moon on a Rainy Night, the highly anticipated anime adaptation of Kuzushiro’s manga, has just had its main staff and teaser visual revealed by producer REMOW in early 2026. Scheduled to premiere this year, the series is being developed at CompTown studio under the direction of Tomoe Makino, known for works such as “Aharen-san wa Hakarenai”. This news is relevant for Brazilian anime fans, especially of the yuri genre, as it promises a faithful adaptation full of affection for the original work, as highlighted by the author herself.
The script and script supervision will be handled by Shōgo Yasukawa, an experienced writer from “Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma”, while Ayumi Nishibata, from “Migi & Dali”, will be responsible for character design. Thus, the assembled team brings experience from successful projects, which raises expectations for the adaptation’s quality. REMOW also released a special illustration in collaboration with the franchise “A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace”, which is another work by the same author, strengthening the connection between her projects.
The Details Behind the Work and the Author
In a brief interview, Kuzushiro expressed her happiness with the production team’s work. The author emphasized that the deep understanding and affection for the characters shine in every part of the anime, from expressions and voices to background details and direction. Therefore, she hopes that fans around the world, including in Brazil, can feel this love when watching. The original manga, which inspired the anime, debuted on Kodansha’s Comic Days website in June 2021 and already has 10 volumes published in Japan, with the 11th volume scheduled for January 20th.
Kuzushiro is no stranger to adaptations. Just last October, another of her works, “Egao no Taenai Shokuba Desu” (or “A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace”), received its anime version, which is being streamed by Crunchyroll. Additionally, the author has a solid track record in the genre, being the creator of the manga “Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san”, which also received a 13-episode anime adaptation in 2014. With this trajectory, the expectation is that “The Moon on a Rainy Night” will further consolidate her name among yuri narrative enthusiasts.
Although an exact premiere date has not yet been announced, everything indicates that the anime will arrive in 2026. The Brazilian fan community, always eager for streaming news, should keep an eye on platforms like Crunchyroll, which usually acquires broadcast rights for titles in this niche. Thus, the adaptation promises not only to entertain but also to expand the reach of Kuzushiro’s original work to an even larger and more diverse audience.
