Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits Manga Concludes in January

The story of student Aoi and her conflict in the spiritual world is about to turn an important page in early 2026. The manga adaptation of the light novel series Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits-, illustrated by Tsugaru Toba, will publish its final chapter in Kodansha’s Shonen Sirius magazine on January 26. Therefore, fans can prepare for the conclusion of this journey that mixes family debts, cuisine, and youkai. Thus, physical volume number 11, which closes the collection, already has a release date for Japanese bookstores: February 27.
The plot, which began its comic version in January 2023, follows the young Aoi. She inherited from her grandfather the ability to see spirits and also a large debt to the master of the Tenshinya inn. To escape the marriage proposal made by the god Oodanna, Aoi decides to work at the place and pay off the debt with her cooking skills. Thanks to this unique premise, the franchise has sold over 340,000 copies of its printed light novels, showing its steady popularity.
A Universe That Expands Beyond the Manga
While Toba’s manga heads towards its conclusion, the Kakuriyo universe remains more alive than ever. The anime’s second season, for example, premiered in October of last year and is still airing. Furthermore, streaming services like Crunchyroll ensure that the Brazilian audience follows Aoi’s new adventures with Portuguese subtitles. On the other hand, there is a second manga adaptation, drawn by Waco Ioka, which already has 12 volumes and continues to be published in Japan, offering a parallel narrative for fans.
Scheduled to conclude in the coming weeks, Toba’s version leaves a legacy of several volumes that deeply explored the spiritual world created by Midori Yūma and Laruha. Thus, readers who have followed the series from the beginning now await the final volume to complete the collection on their shelves. However, the story of Aoi and Oodanna still has plenty of fuel, whether in the animated episodes or the other comic series, ensuring that Bed & Breakfast for Spirits continues to receive visits for a long time.
