Trapped in a Dating Sim: Anime’s 2nd Season Gets Release Date, Cast, and Teaser for 2026

The anime Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs is officially back, with a premiere scheduled for this year of 2026. This Wednesday (7), producer Kadokawa revealed the first details of the second season, including a visual teaser, the return of the main cast, and confirmation of the production team. The information, which reached the Brazilian audience this morning, excites fans of the isekai that places an ordinary man in a world dominated by women. Thus, the continuation promises to follow the revolution started by protagonist Leon, maintaining the sharp humor and social critique that won over the audience.
With direction again by Kazuya Miura at studio ENGI, the production keeps the creative core of the first batch of episodes, which premiered in April 2022. Additionally, Kenta Ihara returns for the scripts, while Masahiko Suzuki remains responsible for character design. However, there are technical novelties, such as the entry of Tetsuya Watanabe as CG director. The news is especially relevant because the series, affectionately known as MobSekai, became a success in Crunchyroll’s catalog, the platform that streamed the first season with English dubbing and Portuguese subtitles. In other words, Brazilian fans can expect more of Leon’s chaotic adventures, who uses his knowledge from a past as a player to subvert the rules of a dating simulation world.
From Romance to Screens: The Saga Behind MobSekai
The origin of the story dates back to 2017, when Yomu Mishima began publishing it online on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform. Thanks to its success, the work gained a printed light novel by Micro Magazine, with illustrations by Monda, which concluded with its 13th volume in March 2024. Additionally, a manga adaptation, started by Jun Shiosato in 2018, went through several publications until reaching Monthly Dragon Age. However, last August, the manga series gained a new arc, called Study Abroad Arc, with a different art team, but without any creative disagreement, as clarified by the original author.
For those who are not yet familiar, the premise is one of the main attractions. The plot follows Leon, an office worker reincarnated into an extremely hostile dating simulation game (otome game). In this universe, women hold the power and only handsome men have value. However, Leon holds a secret weapon: the complete memory of his previous life, including a detailed walkthrough of the game he is now trapped in. Therefore, he starts a revolution to change the rules of this world, all with the simple goal of achieving a peaceful life in the countryside. And what will be Leon’s next step? The second season, arriving in 2026, should answer that question, continuing the unique blend of comedy, action, and satire that defined the series.
