New Nanoha anime confirmed for July 2026 release

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is officially back to celebrate its twentieth anniversary. The franchise will receive a new television series, with its premiere confirmed for July 2026, announced through the official X (formerly Twitter) profile. This return marks a special moment for Brazilian fans, who have followed the character since the 2000s. The production brings together classic names from the series, such as co-creator Masaki Tsuzuki, responsible for the original concept and script, ensuring the essence that won over the audience.
Behind the cameras, the direction is handled by Takayuki Hamana, who previously directed the films ‘Reflection’ and ‘Detonation’. Meanwhile, character design and chief animation direction are signed by Issei Aragaki. Thus, the new animation promises to maintain the iconic look that fans love, combined with the magical action and emotional conflicts characteristic of the Nanoha universe. The production is carried out by studio Seven Arcs, consolidating a heavyweight team for this grand return.
Ongoing manga and more anniversary projects
In addition to the new series, the franchise maintains its active presence in other media. The manga ‘Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS’, for example, has been in publication since April 2025 on the Suiyōbi no Sirius platform from publisher Kodansha. With a script by Masaki Tsuzuki and art by Shūichi Kawakami, the work adds new chapters on the first and third Wednesday of each month, exploring new facets of the main character. In other words, fans don’t have to wait until July to get new content from the beloved magical girl.
The 20th-anniversary celebration projects also include ‘Lyrical Selection’, a TV-edited version of the franchise’s first two films, which began airing in October 2024. Scheduled for a mid-year premiere, the new ‘Nanoha’ series arrives, therefore, to crown this cycle of celebrations. Thus, 2026 solidifies itself as quite a year for otaku who grew up with the character, offering both nostalgia and fresh narratives for a new generation of viewers.
