Manga The Girl, the Shovel, and the Evil Eye Returns for Its Final Arc

The manga ‘The Girl, the Shovel, and the Evil Eye’, created by author Kayatamaru, has just resumed publication with important news for fans: the series will enter its final arc. Scheduled to conclude in just three chapters, the work is heading towards its conclusion in early 2026. Kodansha, the responsible publisher, confirmed that the fifth and final physical volume already has a release date set for February 9, ending a journey that began in April 2020 on the digital service Suiyōbi no Sirius.
This conclusion was expected, since the original story, a webnovel published between 2018 and 2019, already has a defined ending. Thus, readers following the adventures of the protagonist and her cursed shovel will finally see the plot resolve. For the Brazilian manga fan audience, it is another title reaching its conclusion, allowing a complete reading of the narrative without interruptions.
Series Trajectory and Releases
Since its beginning, the series has gained space and had four physical volumes published in Japan, with the last one released in September 2022. Kodansha USA, the publisher’s North American branch, licensed the work in 2021, ensuring its digital distribution in the West and releasing the fourth volume in February 2023. Meanwhile, the light novel version, with chibi illustrations, was also published in Japan under the Legend Novels label, reinforcing the story’s universe.
With the resumption of the final chapters, fans can expect a direct resolution to the narrative conflicts. The three-chapter conclusion format suggests a fast pace, which should keep readers well engaged in the coming weeks. Thus, 2026 begins with the end of another series, giving collectors the chance to acquire the complete physical collection soon.
