Ahare! Meisaku-kun Gets New TV Anime in 2026

The Ahare! Meisaku-kun franchise has just officially announced a new television anime, scheduled to premiere later this year in 2026. The information came directly from the series’ official account on X, formerly Twitter, confirming the return of the popular animated shorts for a new season on Japanese TV. This decision shows the continued strength of the series, which since its first broadcast in 2016 has gained a global fanbase, especially after its arrival on YouTube and the Crunchyroll catalog.
As a result of strong fan support, the production already has a solid history of community funding. In April 2022, for example, a crowdfunding campaign on the Makuake platform reached its goal on the same day it launched. In the end, the project raised the impressive amount of 19,938,500 yen, which is equivalent to approximately R$ 640,000 at the current exchange rate, surpassing all the team’s initial expectations. Thus, the campaign’s success paved the way for the season that premiered in August of that same year, demonstrating the lasting appeal of the characters.
A Successful Journey Since 2016
The journey of Ahare! Meisaku-kun on television began exactly a decade ago, in April 2016, as part of an NHK variety program. Since then, the series has produced six seasons, with short five-minute episodes that captivated the audience. Furthermore, global accessibility increased significantly when the AnimeLog (Anilog) channel began broadcasting the animation on its YouTube in November 2020, followed by Crunchyroll, which made the sixth season available simultaneously with Japan in 2021.
To maintain engagement, the franchise also invested in special events and exclusive content. In November 2022, for example, an exhibition at the Shibuya PARCO building in Tokyo presented an original anime called “Bolt, Bu Yamerutteyo.” Therefore, the announcement of this new TV anime in 2026 is not an isolated point, but rather the next chapter in a consistent expansion strategy. With this, Brazilian fans, who follow the series mainly through streaming, have one more reason to celebrate and await news about a possible international distribution.
