Authors of My Little Monster and Ikoku Nikki Launch New Manga in 2026

Robico, the mind behind the success My Little Monster, and Tomoko Yamashita, acclaimed author of Ikoku Nikki, are back with new projects. The official announcement came directly from the manga site Our Feel, from publisher Shodensha, through its X (formerly Twitter) account. While Yamashita’s new work, titled Tatsumaki, has been available since Sunday, the new manga by Robico and author Kinoshi Wata are scheduled to debut in February and March 2026, respectively. Therefore, Brazilian fans can already celebrate, as these new stories promise to shake up the Japanese comics scene in the coming months.
The release reinforces the continued relevance of these authors in the market. Yamashita, for example, is experiencing a moment of great prominence, with the anime adaptation of Ikoku Nikki premiering in January. Thus, the timing is perfect to present Tatsumaki, a story that delves into the creative crisis of a novelist. The plot promises a unique mix of psychological and supernatural elements, involving everything from a mysterious man to a woman carrying a corpse. With this, the expectation is that the new series will attract both loyal readers and new fans.
Details of the New Works and Authors’ Legacy
In addition to Tomoko Yamashita’s new series, fans eagerly await Robico’s return. The author gained a legion of fans in Brazil with My Little Monster, which received an anime in 2012 and even a live-action film. Although the titles and details of her new stories are still a secret, the mere announcement already heats up the community. Similarly, Kinoshi Wata’s work arouses curiosity. Meanwhile, Yamashita’s success continues to rise: Ikoku Nikki not only concluded in 2023 with 11 volumes but was also nominated for the prestigious Tezuka Osamu Prize in 2024 and topped year-end best lists.
The arrival of these stories to the Brazilian public should happen, as usual, through digital platforms and possible licensing. The anime of Ikoku Nikki, for example, already has confirmed broadcasting by Crunchyroll. Thus, it is only a matter of time until the new manga also cross the ocean. Therefore, 2026 begins with good news for otakus on duty, reaffirming manga as a vibrant and constantly renewing medium, always bringing fresh narratives and heavyweight authors to center stage.
