Avengers: Doomsday | New trailer features Black Panther and Fantastic Four

In this January of 2026, Marvel Studios released the fourth preview trailer for ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ and it finally shows the long-awaited meeting between the heroes of Wakanda and the Fantastic Four. The film’s official release is scheduled for December 18, 2026, in theaters across Brazil, promising to be a colossal cinematic event. This crossover is highly relevant because it represents the first live-action union of Marvel’s three biggest hero groups: the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men. In this way, the studio aims to deliver an epic spectacle to conclude the Multiverse Saga.
The trailer reveals that the Fantastic Four’s ship, briefly seen in the post-credits scene of ‘Thunderbolts*,’ appears to have landed in Wakanda. Meanwhile, the production also confirms that M’Baku, played by Winston Duke, has ascended to the throne of the African kingdom. Although it doesn’t reveal many plot details, the video highlights the return of Letitia Wright as Black Panther and Tenoch Huerta as Namor. With a premiere expected by the end of this year, the film’s marketing is set to intensify, although it will take a mid-year break to focus on the new ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day.’ However, it is not known if the heroic quartet will serve as a bridge between these films.
A Star-Studded Cast and the Fox Legacy
Beyond the meeting in Wakanda, ‘Doomsday’ will make history by bringing together in the same cast the classic versions of the X-Men from the 20th Century Fox films. Thanks to multiverse logic, actors like Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), and Kelsey Grammer (Beast) will reprise their iconic roles. The group also includes Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, and James Marsden as Cyclops. Channing Tatum also returns as Gambit, following his appearance in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ in 2024. Therefore, nostalgic fans will get a true wave of nostalgia, while Marvel lays the groundwork for its own mutant reboot in the future.
Since ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ multiversal threats have been handled more individually in Disney+ series and standalone films. However, the rise of a villain like Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., will force an unprecedented alliance. Loki, Ant-Man, the Avengers, and all other groups will need to unite to save reality. Thus, after a period with fewer significant crossovers, Marvel Studios is betting everything on this event to reignite audience enthusiasm and create a definitive pop culture moment in 2026.
