Avowed and Towerborne: Xbox RPGs Arrive on PS5 in February

Microsoft confirms a new wave of Xbox games for the rival platform, and RPG fans have reason to celebrate in 2026. In a continuing strategic move, the company announced that two major titles from the Xbox catalog, the RPGs Avowed and Towerborne, will receive versions for PS5 as early as next month. The release plan begins with Avowed from Obsidian Entertainment on February 17th, followed by Towerborne from studio Stoic on the 26th of the same month. This decision, therefore, deepens Microsoft’s multiplatform strategy, offering Brazilian players more high-quality options on Sony’s console.
As a result of this expansion, PS5 owners will be able to dive into two rich and distinct universes without needing an Xbox. The PS5 version of Avowed will already arrive with its Anniversary Update included, bringing New Game Plus mode, Photo Mode, and various additional content. Meanwhile, Towerborne, a side-scrolling action RPG, will also make its full debut on PS5 after a period in early access. In this way, Microsoft signals an increasing commitment to the availability of its studios’ games on multiple platforms, a clear benefit for the gaming community in Brazil.
Details about the games and their adventures
The two games promise very different RPG experiences. In Avowed, you take on the role of an envoy from a distant realm, investigating a plague in a wild and secret-filled land called the Living Lands. The narrative promises meaningful choices and first-person magic and weapon combat. Furthermore, the game will benefit from the extra content accompanying the PS5 release, making the experience even more complete for new players.
Meanwhile, Towerborne offers a cooperative proposal with a side-scrolling view. You are reborn as an immortal warrior, an “Ace,” to defend humanity’s last city from hordes of enemies and explore a ruined world. The gameplay focuses on dynamic combat and progression, perfect for those who enjoy adventures alongside friends. With the debut on PS5, an even larger audience can unite in defending the Belfry.
This move, therefore, reflects a clear trend in the industry for 2026, where barriers between platforms continue to dissolve. For the Brazilian player, this means greater access to major franchises without the need to invest in multiple consoles, optimizing their budget. Thus, February shapes up to be a month full of welcomes for RPG fans on PS5.
