Global publisher Crossed Hearts has just announced, in early January 2026, the creation of its new imprint called GLAM BEAT!. Based in California, the company revealed that the main focus will be on narratives of the yuri genre, also known as girls' love (GL), which explore emotional and romantic relationships between women. This move comes as a direct response to the growing demand for diverse and complex stories within the segment, representing the publisher's long-term commitment to the genre.
The official announcement was made via a press release, and the publisher makes it clear that GLAM BEAT! is not a limited or experimental project. On the contrary, the imprint is born with the mission to embrace the full diversity of yuri, from light romances and coming-of-age narratives to psychological dramas and adult-themed stories in fantasy settings. In this way, the initiative promises to offer English-speaking readers—with significant potential impact in the Brazilian market—a broad and consistent catalog.
Broad Expansion and First Confirmed Titles
In addition to the new imprint, Crossed Hearts is also planning an aggressive expansion for 2026, with over 30 print releases expected. The company will diversify its portfolio, including not only romance but also action, fantasy, mystery, isekai, thriller, and horror titles. At the same time, the publisher confirmed its entry into the Chinese manhua and novel markets, further expanding its Asian content offerings.
Among the already acquired licenses that should hit shelves are popular webtoons such as Baroness Goes on Strike and Darling, Why Don't We Divorce?, as well as the Korean novel The Abandoned Villainess Became A Zombie. The first manga in the catalog has also been revealed: You're Way Too Cheeky, Chigaya-kun! by Mai Ando, scheduled for release in May 2026. With this strategy, Crossed Hearts demonstrates that 2026 will be a year of consolidation and growth in the global comics and novels market.
