Esports World Cup 2026 Will Have a Record Prize of R$ 375 Million

The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) officially announced this week the details of the Esports World Cup 2026 (EWC), which promises to be the biggest competitive event in the history of electronic games. Scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 6 to August 23, 2026, the tournament will feature an impressive prize pool of US$ 75 million, equivalent to approximately R$ 375 million at current exchange rates. This colossal amount, which surpasses last year's, underscores the financial escalation and global importance of esports, attracting over 2,000 players and 200 clubs from more than 100 countries.

The event, which has already established itself as the main global stage for digital competition, will have its duration extended to seven weeks. In this way, the organization aims to offer a more comprehensive experience for fans and athletes. The main competition, the EWC Club Championship, alone will distribute US$ 30 million (approximately R$ 150 million) among the top 24 clubs. The grand champion will take home US$ 7 million, or about R$ 35 million, a prize that places the tournament on par with the biggest traditional sports competitions on the planet.

Confirmed Games and New Additions

The list of confirmed games for the 2026 edition brings major new additions for fans. Fortnite and Trackmania are the new additions to the lineup, which already includes established and popular titles in Brazil. Additionally, the lineup includes Counter-Strike 2, VALORANT, League of Legends, Dota 2, and EA Sports FC 26. Highly successful mobile games like Free Fire and PUBG Mobile will also have a place, showcasing the diversity of the current competitive scene. With this variety, the Esports World Cup solidifies its role as a unifying event, bringing together the main player communities from around the world in a single competition.

The steady growth of the prize, which increased by US$ 3 million just in the club championship compared to 2025, reflects the massive investment and bet on the future of esports. Therefore, the expectation is that the 2026 event will break new records in viewership and engagement. For Brazilian players, this is another chance to shine on the international stage and seek a slice of this historic prize. Thus, the eyes of the gaming world are already turned toward the Saudi Arabian desert, which once again hosts the pinnacle of global digital competition.
