Universal Pictures finally revealed the fate of the Toretto family this Sunday, February 1, 2026. The next film in the Fast & Furious franchise has just received the official title Fast Forever and is scheduled to hit Brazilian theaters on March 17, 2028. The film follows the events of Fast & Furious 10, released in 2023, and promises to be the definitive chapter of the main storyline.
Although the sequel was initially planned for 2025, the studio chose to delay the release to adjust the script and production. Vin Diesel, the star behind Dominic Toretto, celebrated the news on his social media with a photo alongside the late Paul Walker. According to the actor, the new film represents a legacy that lasts forever, reinforcing that this will be the conclusion of the epic journey that began in 2001.
The Return to Roots and the Farewell of Brian O"Conner
During recent events, Diesel stated that the grand finale will bring the franchise back to car culture and original street racing. Additionally, the actor hinted at an emotional reunion between Dom and Brian, Walker's character. Due to the use of CGI technology and body doubles, such as Paul's brothers, the production is expected to reintegrate the character for a fitting farewell at the close of the main narrative.
Numbers of a Billion-Dollar Franchise
With over R$ 35 billion collected worldwide since its debut, the saga has established itself as one of the biggest phenomena in cinema. Fast Forever is expected to bring together heavy hitters like Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, and Ludacris, in addition to possible returns from Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. Thus, Universal is setting the stage for what it calls a 'celebration of family,' combining nostalgia and the adrenaline that defined generations of fans in Brazil and around the world.
