The acclaimed light novel series Fate/strange Fake will officially reach its conclusion in the Japanese summer of 2026. Kadokawa's Dengeki Bunko imprint has confirmed that the 10th and final volume of the work written by Ryohgo Narita will be released between June and August of this year, bringing an end to one of the most intricate storylines in the Type-Moon universe.
The decision to conclude the story now came after the author opted to write volumes nine and ten simultaneously. Because of this, Narita was able to precisely adjust the narrative's climax, ensuring that all loose ends of the Holy Grail War would be tied up satisfactorily. This strategy allowed for greater fluidity between the final chapters, something eagerly anticipated by readers who have been following the saga since its inception.
## From April Fools' Prank to Global Success
What is now a cornerstone of the Fate franchise originally began as an April Fools' Day prank in 2008. However, its success was so immense that Ryohgo Narita — known for hits like Baccano! and Durarara!! — transformed the project into a full-fledged series starting in 2015. Since then, the work has featured illustrations by Shizuki Morii and a parallel manga adaptation.
While fans wait for the book, Brazilian fans can binge-watch the anime adaptation on Crunchyroll. The series concluded its most recent season on Saturday, March 28th, displaying a "to be continued" message after the final episode. Additionally, the Portuguese-dubbed version premiered in January 2026, making it more accessible for those who prefer to follow the story in their native language.
