Sony Interactive Entertainment and Arc System Works have just confirmed the release of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls for August 6, 2026. With versions for PlayStation 5 and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), the title marks the return of mutants to competitive fighting games with the heavy-hitting pedigree of the creators of Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ.
While pre-orders officially begin on February 19, 2026, the studio has already revealed the first team of playable heroes, dubbed SThe Unbreakable X-Men⬝. Under Storm's leadership, the group includes iconic figures like Wolverine, Magik, and the dangerous Danger. The story focuses on a restructured team after intense battles left the main members out of action, forcing Storm to take command guided by Charles Xavier.
Editions and Pre-order Bonuses
Those who secure the game early starting in February receive exclusive lobby items, allowing them to customize their avatar from day one. Additionally, the game launches in three distinct versions:
- Standard Edition
- Digital Deluxe Edition
- Ultimate Edition
Story and PS5 Technology
The story mode, called Episode Mode, promises an unprecedented fusion of American comic book aesthetics and Japanese manga. To achieve this, Arc System Works collaborated with renowned writers from Marvel Games themselves, creating an experience told through Smotion comics⬝ with illustrations from celebrated artists. Thanks to the partnership with Sony, the game leverages 3D audio (Tempest 3D AudioTech) and the DualSense's haptic feedback to enhance immersion in battles.
Finally, Brazilian players can celebrate, as the title will feature full voice acting in Brazilian Portuguese, in addition to nine other languages. Thus, the new threat approaching Earth can be faced with full localization for the Brazilian market.
