The Krafton Montréal Studio revealed this Thursday (12th) the first details of Project Windless, its new open-world action RPG exclusive to PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro. Inspired by the acclaimed Korean book series The Bird That Drinks Tears, the title promises a dark and tragic fantasy experience, completely breaking away from the usual Western medieval clichés we see in today's games.
Set a thousand years before the original events of the books, the game puts you in the role of a Rekon, a nomadic race of giant bird warriors. Due to their absurd physical strength, these heroes are perfect for the core combat system, focused on one-versus-many confrontations. Additionally, the Rekons have a curious weakness that influences gameplay: they have an instinctive and paralyzing fear of water, making exploration of the environment even more strategic.

The development team emphasizes that the open world of Project Windless avoids hand-holding the player at all times. Therefore, you'll have total freedom to carve your own path, whether exploring hidden secrets or forging alliances to create a new kingdom.
