The multiverse's most chaotic duo is back in Japanese pages. Rick and Morty officially return to manga format on February 24, 2026, with the release of Rick and Morty: The Manga Vol. 2: After-School Science Club. Published by Oni Press, the new adventure swaps space battles for something far more terrifying: high school romance and extracurricular activities.
This time, the protagonists travel to Akihabara, the famous Tokyo district known as the mecca of anime. While the first volume dealt with a giant naked Jerry, this sequel explores how a bizarre obsession with maid cafes can destroy reality. Plus, writer Josh Tierney teamed up with artist JeyOdin to ensure the original show's sharp humor is preserved in every panel.

Chaos and Otaku Culture
Tierney confessed that writing this volume was the perfect opportunity to dive back into the series. So fans can expect deep references and a frenetic pace that echoes the characters' voices. JeyOdin also emphasized that while it's not a direct sequel to the previous story, the new book blends action and mystery in a way never seen before in the franchise. As such, the release promises to please both manga readers and die-hard fans of the Adult Swim cartoon.
