Warzone Season 2 Release Date Confirmed: See What's New and Winter Rebirth Island

Raven Software, the developer of Call of Duty: Warzone, has confirmed the release date for the battle royale's Season 2. The major update is scheduled to hit platforms on Thursday, February 5, 2026, marking the end of the current season's Battle Pass. This launch is highly anticipated by the Brazilian community, as it promises to deeply refresh the game experience with a new look for a classic map and the introduction of unprecedented competitive modes.

The main attraction of this new season will be the transformation of the Rebirth Island map, which will get a winter theme. The famous Alcatraz island will appear covered in snow, offering a completely new visual and tactical dynamic for fans of the Resurgence mode. Additionally, a new point of interest (POI) based on the Black Ops 7 campaign will be added near the docks, expanding combat possibilities.

New modes and the return of competitive play

For players seeking greater challenges, Season 2 will bring significant news to the competitive scene. Raven Software has confirmed the return of Ranked Resurgence, which, however, will no longer be played on traditional Rebirth Island. Instead, the ranked mode will take place on the Heaven's Hollow map, added in Season 1. At the same time, a new mode called Iron Gauntlet will be introduced. This successor to Iron Trials promises to push difficulty to the extreme, with its own rules for health, loot, and loadouts, and will be set on the classic Verdansk. The two competitive modes will enter a rotation system, with only one available at a time.

Although there is no official confirmation for February, fans are also awaiting news about a new mode inspired by Blackout from Black Ops 4, revealed at the CoD Next event in late 2025. The initial forecast was for spring 2026, which leaves a possibility, albeit remote, of its appearance as early as Season 2. This mode is expected to take place on the Avalon map, previously used in BO7's Endgame mode.

As is tradition with every new season, players can expect a series of additional content. The list includes new weapons, a completely revamped Battle Pass, weapon rebalancing (buffs and nerfs), themed events, and new Operator skins. Thus, Season 2 solidifies itself as one of the most robust updates for Warzone in early 2026, promising to re-energize the player base with substantial changes to gameplay and the competitive landscape.
