Detective Conan: B’z Returns with New Opening for 30th Anniversary

The iconic Detective Conan franchise gets a rock and roll breath of fresh air in early 2026. The anime production revealed that the legendary Japanese band B’z returns to perform the new opening, titled “Heaven Knows”, which premieres in Japan next Saturday, January 10th. This return is not by chance, as it marks the grand 30th anniversary of the TV series, which began its journey on January 8, 1996. Therefore, the choice of the band is a nostalgic gift for older fans, as B’z was first part of the soundtrack of the shrunken detective in 1999.
The new song arrives as part of a complete celebration package. Meanwhile, singer Mai Kuraki takes on the vocals for the new ending, “TOWA: Eikyū ni Kaze ni Noru”, which also premieres on the same date. Thus, fans can expect a dual renewal in the anime’s soundtrack. The relevance of the moment is undeniable, with the series reaching the historic milestone of over 1,100 episodes aired. Furthermore, the return of B’z, which has contributed six openings and movie themes, symbolizes a celebration that connects the anime’s glorious past with its promising future.
A Wave of Content for Fans
In addition to the new opening, Brazilian fans have much to celebrate in this year of 2026. Thanks to streaming services, the anniversary party also arrives here. Crunchyroll and Netflix continue expanding their catalogs with special themed collections of the anime. The latest, “Rivals of the Great Detective”, began streaming on the first day of this year. Simultaneously, TMS Entertainment prepared a two-hour special with an original story, called “Detective Conan: 30-gō Satsujin Jiken”, to mark the date. Thus, the experience for those following the series becomes richer and more accessible.
The 2026 calendar for the franchise is packed. Still in the first quarter, on April 10th, the 29th movie, “Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway”, premieres in Japanese theaters. This release follows in the footsteps of the success of the 28th movie, which led the local box office in April 2025. To crown the celebrations, special concerts are scheduled in Kanagawa and Hyogo between April and May. Thus, whether on TV, streaming, or cinema, detective Conan Edogawa proves that, even after three decades, his mystery and charm remain more alive than ever for the audience.
