Thanks to the solo work of a fan, identified as DG1 Games, a high-definition remake of the classic racing game is taking shape within Dreams, Media Molecule’s creation tool for PS4 and PS5. This initiative emerges in January 2026, after more than 13 years without any official news for the series, reviving the nostalgia of a generation that saw the game as a milestone of arcade style and technology at home.
The project, named Ridge Racer Advanced, was built completely from scratch within the Dreams ecosystem. Therefore, it functions as an independent and accessible experience. The fan developer promises a special feature to please everyone: the option to switch between a modern HD look and an aesthetic faithful to the original PS1 polygonal graphics. In this way, the recreation serves both as a restored relic for purists and as a new gateway for younger players.
