Marvel Rivals Doesn’t Slow Down: New Hero Every 45 Days Until 2026

The development team of Marvel Rivals, NetEase’s hero shooter, confirmed that it does not intend to reduce the ambitious schedule for releasing new characters. With plans to maintain a new hero every month and a half, the game will reach 2026 with 45 characters in its roster, since its official launch with 33 names. This aggressive strategy, considered “very successful” by the developers, explores an archive of nearly 100 years of Marvel, which has about 7,000 heroes and villains in its stories.
Upon reaching its second year of operation, the title demonstrates stamina to continue innovating, thanks to a flexible team that adjusts based on community feedback. Thus, the pace of updates is impressive: since launch, the team has added 12 characters, an average of one per month, with two more confirmed in production: Deadpool and Elsa Bloodstone. Therefore, fans can expect constant news as the game’s universe expands.
The Secret Behind Continuous Success
In an email response, the game team displayed confidence in explaining how they maintain this pace. “We add a lot of content and value to the community,” they stated. “Our team is made up of talented designers, programmers, and artists who work together to ensure this frequency of hero updates.” Additionally, they highlight the intention to collaborate more closely with Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) releases in 2026, which include films like ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ and ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.
However, the vastness of the source material is the true asset. With an archive that would yield new characters for 875 years at the current pace, the team has creative freedom to explore from icons like Iron Man and Wolverine to more niche figures, such as Jeff the Land Shark and Luna Snow. Thus, the future of the game seems as promising as its origins in comic book pages, ensuring constant surprises for Brazilian players.
