Rin Suzukawa and Jun Esaka Launch New Manga in January 2026

In the editorial landscape of early 2026, two heavyweight names in the Japanese comics industry are preparing new releases. Rin Suzukawa, the creative mind behind the chaotic manga Asobi Asobase, and Jun Esaka, a writer known for her novelizations of hits like Naruto and One Piece, are debuting new titles in January of this year. These releases occur through the Manga ONE app, from publisher Shogakukan, bringing distinct proposals for fans. The news is relevant because it marks Suzukawa’s return with a new work after the conclusion of her main series and expands Esaka’s portfolio, who has already gained space with her literary adaptations.
Rin Suzukawa presents Galaxy Pū-chan Uchū no Hajikko de Konnichiwa, a science fiction comedy in color. Scheduled to debut on January 4th, the work promises cosmic absurdities in a new format. Meanwhile, Jun Esaka joins artist Kine Usuto to create Yametai! ~Anata no Reset, Daikō Shimasu~, a corporate drama about a “resignation agent.” This series arrives on January 11th, exploring professional dilemmas with an intriguing concept. Thus, the platform strengthens its catalog by offering everything from nonsense humor to more mature and reflective narratives.
Authors’ Trajectory and Projections
Rin Suzukawa concluded Asobi Asobase in November 2022, after a successful anime adaptation in 2018. Her most recent work was Outsider Paradise, released in 2023. Therefore, the new color manga represents a change of scenery and mediums for the author. On the other hand, Jun Esaka maintains a constant production, with the second volume of One Piece novel HEROINES releasing in Japan in March 2024 and an anime adaptation of the novels already confirmed. Her new project with Kine Usuto delves into the world of workplace relationships, a theme that is always current and should resonate with a more adult audience.
Thus, the first month of 2026 begins with good prospects for manga fans. The two works, although different in tone and proposal, feature experienced creators with a history of success. The Manga ONE app consolidates itself, in this way, as a space for experimentation and for the return of authors beloved by the public. It remains to be seen how readers will receive these new stories that promise to entertain and, perhaps, win a place in the hearts of Brazilian fans, always eager for news from the Eastern universe.
