Romance Anime ‘Tōmei na Yoru’ Has Release Date and Team Confirmed

Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky, the anime based on the acclaimed light novel by Nanigashi Shima and raemz, has finally received its first official details. During the GA FES 2026 event, which took place last Sunday, studio MAKARIA revealed the teaser video, the first main visual, and, most anticipated, the adaptation’s premiere for July of this year, 2026. The story, which has already won awards and received a live-action adaptation, follows university student Kakeru Sorano and cheerful Koharu Fuyutsuki, a blind girl, in a delicate romance that promises to move fans of the genre.
Directed by Joe Yoshizaki, known for works like Kakuriyo and The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows, the anime will have scripts supervised by Yūko Kakihara, responsible for series like Blue Box. Meanwhile, character design will be handled by the duo Yoshihiro Sawada and Yūzuki Ishii. The plot begins on a spring night, when Kakeru, a reserved boy, is taken by a colleague to a party and meets Koharu. From this casual encounter, the two begin to grow closer, starting a touching journey about overcoming challenges, dreams, and the search for light, even in the most difficult situations.
From Literary Success to Screens
The origin of this success comes from the books. Originally published in August 2023, the light novel Tōmei na Yoru ni Kakeru Kimi to, Me ni Mienai Koi wo Shita quickly captivated the public, reaching third place in the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2024 guide and winning the grand prize of the 15th GA Bunko Prize. Due to this popularity, the work has already received a manga version, which debuted in 2024, and a live-action series, which aired at the end of last year. Additionally, the authors have already released a sequel novel in August 2024, further expanding this narrative universe.
Therefore, with a solid fan base and an experienced production team, the anime adaptation arrives with high expectations. Thus, the premiere in July 2026 becomes one of the most anticipated releases of the season, promising to bring a sensitive and engaging representation of its central theme. For Brazilian anime and romance fans, this is definitely a production to keep an eye on in the second half of this year.
