Skeleton Knight in Another World, the isekai anime starring a skeleton knight, has finally revealed the details of its highly anticipated second season. During the special event Overlap Bunko All-Star Gathering Special 2026, held last Sunday (11th), studio Aura confirmed that the series returns to Japanese screens in July of this year, 2026. With a new team of writers and designers joining key returning members, the production promises to expand the hilarious and action-packed adventures of Arc, the hero trapped in a body of bones. This news is a great relief for Brazilian fans, who have been waiting for more since the premiere of the first season in 2022, available on Crunchyroll.
The direction remains in the experienced hands of Katsumi Ono, ensuring consistency in the visual style and narrative. However, the series gains a new breath with Toshizo Nemoto, writer of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, taking over the scripts. Furthermore, the Norwegian singer PelleK, responsible for the opening theme of the 1st season, also confirmed his return with a new theme. Thus, the combination of the familiar and the new should please both loyal viewers and attract new curious audiences to this unique fantasy story.
What changes in the skeleton knight’s new journey?
Besides the change in writing, other behind-the-scenes areas have been reinforced. Character designer Chisa Shibata, known for 7th Time Loop, takes on the role of sub-character designer, while Jia Fang Lu brings her experience from My Clueless First Friend to the art direction. These changes suggest a visual evolution for the series, which continues to be based on the light novels by Ennki Hakari, already published up to the 10th volume. The plot, which follows a gamer transported to a fantasy world in his powerful skeleton armor, is expected to explore new conflicts and deepen his unlikely companionship with the elven warrior Ariane.
With the premiere scheduled for mid-year, the expectation is that the episodes will arrive on Crunchyroll’s catalog shortly after their broadcast in Japan, following the model of the previous season. Therefore, Brazilian fans shouldn’t have to wait long to embark again on this action-comedy full of RPG references.
