Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Gains Pac-Man DLC This Wednesday (1/7)

Sonic Racing CrossWorlds receives a classic gaming crossover this Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Sega has officially announced that the iconic Pac-Man arrives in the racing game in a free DLC pack for all players. The novelty includes the yellow character, his chasing ghosts, and a themed track called Pac-Village, promising an injection of arcade nostalgia into the multiverse races. This way, fans can celebrate the start of the year with this unexpected fusion between two historic franchises from Sega and Bandai Namco.
Pac-Man’s arrival happens through a simple download for those who already own the base game, working on all platforms where the title is available. This release is especially relevant because it consolidates Sega’s strategy of turning Sonic Racing CrossWorlds into a true meeting point for popular franchises. Furthermore, the collaboration was originally announced in August of last year, creating an expectation that finally materializes in the first month of 2026. Therefore, Brazilian players can access the content starting today, at no additional cost.
What else is coming to the game?
This, however, is just the first step in a packed calendar for the game. Scheduled to arrive still this January, AiAi, from the classic Super Monkey Ball, already has a set date to hit the track. In February, it will be the turn of the characters Tangle and Whisper, who come directly from the IDW Publishing comics of the Sonic franchise. This way, Sega maintains a constant pace of updates to keep the community engaged.
It’s worth remembering that Sonic Racing CrossWorlds is already a success in crossovers, with special appearances from Hatsune Miku, Ichiban from Like a Dragon, and Joker from Persona 5. The game has also already partnered with Nickelodeon, adding SpongeBob SquarePants and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and with Capcom, which will bring Mega Man in a future pack. Therefore, the addition of Pac-Man seems like another natural move in this strategy of creating a racing universe where all fans meet. Thus, the title solidifies itself as a celebration not only of the blue hedgehog but of all of video game culture.
