The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten: Season 2 premieres in April 2026

Fans of the rom-com “The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten” have a big reason to celebrate in early 2026. The GA FES 2026 event revealed, in a live broadcast last Sunday, that the second season of the anime will officially premiere in Japan on April 3. The confirmation came alongside a new key visual, drawn by Takayuki Noguchi, which promises to continue the sweet story between neighbors Amane and Mahiru. This new season arrives to fuel Brazilian fans’ passion for the genre, who followed the first batch of episodes on Crunchyroll.
The production will maintain the essence that won over the audience, yet it will bring significant changes in direction. While the first season was supervised by Kenichi Imaizumi, the sequel will be directed by Chihiro Kumano at studio Project No.9. The good news, however, is that other creative pillars remain: Keiichirō Ōchi continues to be responsible for the scripts and Moe Hyūga for the soundtrack. This way, the team ensures the continuity of the romantic and everyday tone that showed, in a simple manner, how a kindness on a rainy day can trigger a slow and captivating romance.
Where the anime came from and where it’s going
The journey of Amane and Mahiru began long before the screens. The story was serialized online by Saekisan in 2018 and, due to its success, gained physical light novels by publisher SB Creative the following year. With a premiere scheduled for April, the second season promises to deepen the relationship that began to blossom. The first season, which premiered in January 2023, was already available to the Brazilian audience through Crunchyroll, and everything indicates that the streaming service will retain the broadcast rights for the new batch of episodes.
For those who don’t know yet, the premise is truly charming. Student Amane Fujimiya leads an ordinary life until he realizes that his neighbor is none other than Mahiru Shiina, the most popular and admired girl at school. Therefore, he is surprised when, on a stormy day, he finds her downcast and offers her his umbrella. This simple act of kindness triggers a series of events, as Mahiru, to repay the gesture, begins to help him with household chores. Thus, a unique connection full of cute moments develops, showing that love can literally be next door. With the new season on the way, fans can prepare for more doses of this sweet coexistence.
