The Brilliant Healer Gets 2nd Anime Season in 2026

“The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows”, also known as Yami Healer, has just been confirmed for its second season. The official announcement came during GA FES 2026, a Japanese anime event that took place last Sunday. The news, which stirred the Brazilian otaku community this Tuesday (6th), was accompanied by a new promotional video and key visual, fueling the anticipation of fans following the saga of the healer Zenos.
The first season, which premiered in April 2025, tells the story of Zenos, a man born in the slums who overcomes poverty to become a healer. However, despite his talent, his adventure party abandons him. As a result, he decides to use his self-taught skills to open a clandestine clinic in the city’s alleys, gaining fame as a healing genius in the shadows. The popularity of the plot, which combines redemption and dark fantasy, is the main reason for the continuation.
Production Details and Where to Watch
Scheduled to premiere later this year in 2026, the second season is expected to continue under the direction of Joe Yoshizaki and the screenplay by Taika Miyagi from studio Makaria Inc. The first season is available on Crunchyroll, a platform that typically brings episodes with Portuguese subtitles shortly after their broadcast in Japan. Meanwhile, the original light novel, written by Sakaku Hishikawa, already has eight volumes in Japan and is published in English by J-Novel Club.
The manga adaptation, in turn, has five volumes, and even a webtoon was launched in the summer of 2024. Thus, Brazilian fans have multiple ways to follow the story before the animation returns. The big question that remains is: Will Zenos actually be able to build a new life and save his patients in a world that has always rejected him? The answer will soon reach us through the screens.
