Wild Rift Patch 7.0 Arrives with Ionia Map, New Champions, and Season 20

Riot Games revealed this week the full details of the highly anticipated Patch 7.0 for League of Legends: Wild Rift, marking the beginning of a new competitive cycle. Scheduled for release on January 22, 2026, the update not only welcomes Season 20 of the Ranked mode but also introduces a series of ambitious changes to the mobile game. This major content package arrives to renew the experience for Brazilian players, bringing everything from a completely revamped look to new champions and gameplay mechanics.
The heart of the news beats in Ionia, with a thematic Spring Festival event promising exclusive rewards. Furthermore, Riot aims to improve visual clarity and strategic decisions within matches. But how exactly will these changes impact your mobile games? The answer begins with the arrival of two new champions. Smolder, the Fiery Fledgling, takes on the role of a marksman (ADC) with terrifying scaling potential for the late game. Meanwhile, Mel, the Soul’s Reflection, emerges as a long-range mage who can play in the mid lane or as support, with a unique ability to reflect enemy powers.
Renewed Map and New Features That Are Here to Stay
The main map of Wild Rift undergoes its most significant transformation yet. Now known as the Ionian Rift, it replaces Bandle City with a clearer setting and less fog in the jungle. This change aims to improve visibility and, consequently, decision-making based on vision control. The new Spirit Blossoms mechanic emerges as a crucial tactical element, appearing on the map after an ally falls or when a jungle monster is stolen, allowing the team to capitalize even in moments of disadvantage. To top it off, the new Mid Lane Wind Zone will give mid laners a movement speed boost, encouraging and facilitating rotations to other lanes.
Fans of controlled chaos have reason to celebrate, as the popular AAA ARAM mode becomes permanent starting with this patch. It arrives with more polished visuals and the new Flying Swords system, which allows players to activate extra rune effects and unlock combos during the match. Another mode returning in full force is Arena, now with support for up to 16 players and a new stage. Finally, Ranked Season 20 is already open, offering an exclusive skin for Teemo as a reward for climbing ranks. The first Wild Pass of the year will bring Spirit Feeder Ziggs, followed later by Warden Thresh, closing a package full of reasons to return to the Rift.
