During CES 2026 in Las Vegas, the electronics company TCL announced a novelty that could change how Brazilians access their games. The manufacturer revealed that its new flagship TV line, the X11L series, will be the first with the Google TV system to receive the Xbox Game Pass app later this year. This means that, for the first time on the Google platform, it will be possible to access Microsoft’s game library directly through the TV, without the need for a physical console.
The launch represents an important step for cloud gaming in Brazil, bringing more accessibility to players. The functionality will arrive on the X11L models via an over-the-air software update, scheduled for 2026. This way, the user will only need a compatible TV, a Game Pass subscription, a stable internet connection, and an Xbox controller to start playing. This approach completely eliminates the need for heavy downloads, storage space, or expensive hardware, democratizing access to triple-A titles.
How It Works and Who Can Use It
The service, known as Xbox Cloud Gaming, works in a simple way: the games run on Microsoft’s remote servers and the video is streamed in real time to your TV. Therefore, the quality of the experience depends heavily on the speed and stability of your internet. However, the great advantage is convenience. You can switch between dozens of games instantly, as if you were changing movies on a streaming service. For now, TCL is the only brand confirmed to bring the app to the Google TV ecosystem. In other words, devices like Chromecast or streamers from other brands do not yet have a forecast to receive the novelty.
In the current market, Xbox Cloud Gaming is already available on Samsung and LG TVs, as well as Amazon Fire TV devices. Its arrival on Google TV, therefore, expands options for consumers. TCL also highlighted that the new models will come with the “Gemini for TV” experience, promising even deeper integration with cloud services. Although the price of the X11L models in Brazil has not yet been announced, the trend is that cloud gaming technology will become an increasingly common differentiator in smart TVs from 2026 onward.
