Crunchyroll Launches English Dub of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes S2 on Same Day

Second season of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes premieres with English dubbing on the same day on Crunchyroll. Episodes are already available.

In January 2026, **Crunchyroll** announced a major gift for Western fans of the *My Hero Academia* universe. The streaming service confirmed that the second season of the anime **My Hero Academia: Vigilantes** (also known as *Illegals*) will have its English dubbing released on the same day as the original Japanese broadcast. This decision addresses a long-standing demand from the community, eliminating the wait for subtitles or dubs and immersing the international audience directly into the action of the outlaw heroes. The official premiere took place last Monday, January 5, 2026, marking the beginning of a new phase for the spin-off.

With simultaneous dubbing, Crunchyroll aims to offer a more accessible and immersive experience, especially for those who prefer to follow series in English. The dub production is handled by an experienced team, led by voice director Manuel Aragon. Thus, episodes arrive on the platform’s catalog shortly after airing on Japanese channels Tokyo MX, BS NTV, and YTV. This strategy reinforces the company’s commitment to bringing anime content quickly and with high quality to Brazil and the world, following an increasingly common trend in streaming.

## Team Behind the Heroes

Fans can expect consistency, as major names from the main franchise return for this project. The direction is once again by Kenichi Suzuki, while Yōsuke Kuroda handles the script, ensuring the same narrative style. Additionally, the epic soundtrack is by Yūki Hayashi, the same composer as the original anime, promising familiar chills. The spin-off, set before the events of the main series, explores the behind-the-scenes of the hero world through characters operating on the fringes of the law, offering a fascinating counterpoint to Midoriya’s story.

The manga by Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court, which inspired the anime, was published between 2016 and 2022, totaling 15 volumes. With the end of the original work, this new animated season gains extra weight for fans, serving as a valuable expansion of the canon. Therefore, the quick arrival of the English dub is not just a convenience but a way to celebrate and keep the flame of this universe alive for a global audience, ensuring no fan is left behind in episode discussions.
