Studio MAPPA produces commemorative video for Cardfight!! Vanguard’s 15th anniversary. New anime arc is also airing.

The renowned Japanese animation studio **MAPPA** has produced a new special video to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the **Cardfight!! Vanguard** card game and anime franchise. Bushiroad, the franchise’s creator, revealed the material on Monday, January 12, 2026, as part of the anniversary celebrations. The video, which is already available, features the theme song XV, performed by the band Roselia, and marks another significant collaboration in the anime universe. This production comes at a strategic time, as a new series arc, the *Divinez Phantom Star Battle Arc*, officially premiered in Japan on the 10th.

The technical direction and storyboards were handled by Hiroko Komatsu, a professional with experience in acclaimed works such as *Attack on Titan The Final Season* and *Banana Fish*. Thus, the video’s visual quality has a seal of guarantee. The release coincides with the *Bushiroad New Year Grand Announcement 2026* event, which also previewed the second episode of the anime’s new arc. Therefore, Brazilian fans who have followed the franchise since its beginning in 2011 have plenty of reasons to celebrate this start of the year.

## A Consolidated Franchise

The success of Cardfight!! Vanguard began exactly 15 years ago, resulting from a collaboration between creator Akira Itō, the original technical consultant for Duel Masters, Satoshi Nakamura, and Bushiroad’s president, Takaaki Kidani. Since then, the franchise has expanded beyond cards, gaining space on television with its first anime season also in January 2011. Currently, the new *Divinez* arc is broadcast on channels such as TV Aichi and TV Tokyo, keeping the flame of the strategic battle game alive.

For fans in Brazil, who have always followed the adventures of the cardfighters, the news of the video animated by MAPPA is a more than special gift. The production reinforces the franchise’s legacy and continued relevance in the entertainment market. Furthermore, with the Bushiroad announcement event being broadcast globally on YouTube, the barrier of geographical distance disappears, allowing the Brazilian community to participate in the news in real time. Thus, 2026 begins with a great tribute to a series that has marked generations of players and otakus.
