The mobile RPG Pocket Mortys will shut down on April 13, 2026, completing a ten-year journey on mobile devices. Following this decision, the developers have removed all in-app purchases, letting players access all content for free starting now.
Inspired by the Adult Swim series, the game won over audiences by adapting the Pokémon formula to the Rick and Morty multiverse. Since its 2016 launch, the title has racked up millions of downloads and kept a loyal base of half a million monthly active users. However, the cycle comes to an end after stints with studios such as Big Pixel Studios and Pocket Sized Hands.
