The End of Fate/strange Fake: Final Light Novel Volume Arrives Soon

Ryohgo Narita's epic Fate/strange Fake saga ends in summer 2026 with volume 10. Here's what to expect from the light novel finale.

The End of Fate/strange Fake: Final Light Novel Volume Arrives Soon

The acclaimed light novel series Fate/strange Fake will reach its official conclusion in the Japanese summer of 2026. The Dengeki Bunko imprint, from publisher Kadokawa, confirmed that the 10th and final volume of Ryohgo Narita’s work will be released between June and August of this year, closing one of the most complex storylines in the Type-Moon universe.

The decision to end the story now came after the author chose to write volumes nine and ten simultaneously. As a result, Narita was able to fine-tune the narrative climax with precision, ensuring that every loose thread of the False Holy Grail War was tied up satisfactorily. This strategy allowed greater fluidity between the final chapters, something long awaited by readers who have followed the saga from the start.

From April Fools’ Joke to Worldwide Success

What is now a pillar of the Fate franchise was originally born as an April Fools’ joke in 2008. However, the success was so great that Ryohgo Narita — known for hits like Baccano! and Durarara!! — turned the project into a full series starting in 2015. Since then, the work has featured illustrations by Shizuki Morii and a manga adaptation running in parallel.

While the book does not arrive, Brazilian fans can binge the anime adaptation on Crunchyroll. The series wrapped its most recent season last Saturday, March 28, showing a “to be continued” message right after the final episode. In addition, the Portuguese-dubbed version premiered in January 2026, making it easier for viewers who prefer to follow the story in their own language.
