Warzone Season 2 release date confirmed: see new features and winter Rebirth Island

Warzone Season 2 arrives on February 5th with a snow-covered Rebirth Island, the new competitive Iron Gauntlet mode, and the return of Ranked Resurgence.

**Raven Software**, the developer of **Call of Duty: Warzone**, has confirmed the release date for the battle royale’s **Season 2**. The major update is scheduled to arrive on platforms on **Thursday, February 5, 2026**, marking the end of the current season’s Battle Pass. This release is highly anticipated by the Brazilian community, as it promises to deeply renew the game experience with a new look for a classic map and the introduction of brand-new competitive modes.

The main attraction of this new season will be the transformation of the **Rebirth Island** map, which will gain a winter theme. In this way, the famous Alcatraz island will appear covered in snow, offering a completely new visual and tactical dynamic for fans of the Resurgence mode. Additionally, a new point of interest (POI) based on the **Black Ops 7** campaign will be added near the docks, expanding combat possibilities.

## New Modes and the Return of Competitive Play

For players seeking greater challenges, Season 2 will bring significant novelties to the competitive scene. Raven Software has confirmed the return of **Ranked Resurgence**, which, however, will no longer be contested on the traditional Rebirth Island. Instead, the ranked mode will take place on the **Heaven’s Hollow** map, added in Season 1. Concurrently, a new mode called **Iron Gauntlet** will be introduced. This successor to Iron Trials promises to elevate the difficulty to the extreme, with its own rules for health, loot, and loadouts, and will be set in the classic **Verdansk**. The two competitive modes will enter a rotation system, with only one available at a time.

Although there is no official confirmation for February, fans are also awaiting news about a new mode inspired by **Blackout** from Black Ops 4, revealed at the CoD Next event at the end of 2025. The initial forecast was for spring 2026, which leaves a possibility, albeit remote, of its appearance already in Season 2. This mode is expected to take place on the **Avalon** map, previously used in BO7’s Endgame mode.

As is tradition with every new season, players can expect a series of additional content. The list includes new weapons, a completely renewed Battle Pass, weapon rebalancing (buffs and nerfs), thematic events, and brand-new Operator skins. In this way, Season 2 establishes itself as one of the most robust updates for Warzone in early 2026, promising to re-energize the player base with substantial changes to gameplay and the competitive landscape.
