Sony Interactive Entertainment and Arc System Works have just confirmed the release of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls for August 6, 2026. With versions for PlayStation 5 and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), the title marks the return of mutants to competitive fighting games, backed by the creators of Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ.
While pre-orders officially open on February 19, 2026, the studio has already revealed the first roster of playable heroes, dubbed “The Unbreakable X-Men.” Led by Storm, the group features iconic figures such as Wolverine, Magik, and the dangerous Danger. The story follows a restructured team after intense battles left its core members out of action, forcing Storm to take command guided by Charles Xavier.
Pre-order Editions and Rewards
Players who secure the game early starting in February will receive exclusive lobby items, letting them customize their avatar from day one. In addition, the game hits the market in three distinct versions:
- Standard Edition
- Digital Deluxe Edition
- Ultimate Edition
Story and Technology on PS5
The story mode, called Episode Mode, promises an unprecedented fusion of American comic-book and Japanese manga aesthetics. To that end, Arc System Works collaborated with renowned writers from Marvel Games itself, creating an experience told through “motion comics” with illustrations by celebrated artists. Thanks to the partnership with Sony, the game takes advantage of 3D audio (Tempest 3D AudioTech) and DualSense haptic feedback to deepen immersion in combat.
Finally, Brazilian players have reason to celebrate, as the title will feature a full Brazilian Portuguese dub alongside nine other languages. That way, the new threat approaching Earth can be faced with full localization for the Brazilian market.
