[Mobile Legends] Akai: New Skills and Origins

São Paulo Akai is one of the Mobile Legends heroes who appeared early in the season. The name Akai, which means “red” in Japanese, reflects his style, although the panda is native to China. This character is an adaptation of the Kung Fu Panda movie character. This hero was released in 2016 with the Tank/Support role. Akai is also very well suited for body tanking (TB) and crowd control (CC).

The story is about a chubby panda named Akai, who lives his daily routine as a fish seller in Stream Valley. One day, he is inspired to become a legendary hero with a powerful sword and fight an evil dragon. Akai eagerly longs to perform heroic deeds, although he often causes chaos.

While fishing, he meets a frog who claims to be an Immortal Frog and offers to train him to become a martial artist. Akai accepts the offer and, through three exhausting years of training, he manages to master martial arts and develops his signature move called Panda Punches.

However, when the eastern fighters, the four chosen disciples of the Great Dragon, arrive at Stream Valley, Akai feels inferior because his martial moves are not as good as theirs. Akai later discovers that the Immortal Frog is not really a disciple of the Great Dragon, and that he has been secretly practicing martial arts behind the Great Dragon’s back.

Akai learns that being a hero is not just about receiving praise from others, but also about sacrifice. Akai’s story teaches that being a hero is not just fighting monsters and earning praise, but also sacrificing yourself and striving to be better.

Passive: Tai Chi [BUFF]

Akai gains a 25 (+4% Total HP) shield for 4 seconds for each Skill use and can leave marks on enemy Creeps and Heroes hit by his Skill.

Akai’s Basic Attack deals an additional 25 (+4% Total HP) Physical Damage to marked opponents.

Skill 1: Headbutt [Blink] [CC]

Akai charges in the specified direction, dealing 300 (+50% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage to enemies in his path. If Akai hits an enemy Hero during this process, he knocks them into the air for 0.5 seconds and can roll once in the Joystick direction.

Akai can use Headbutt during Heavy Spin to adjust positioning. This skill requires 70 Mana with a 13.0-second Cooldown.

Skill 2: Body Slam [AoE]

Akai slams the ground with his body, dealing 270 (+6% Total HP) Physical Damage to enemies in the area and slowing them by 30% for 2 seconds. This skill requires 70 Mana with a 7.0-second Cooldown.

Skill 3/Ultimate: Heavy Spin [CC] [AoE]

Akai removes all Debuffs from himself and spins for 4 seconds. Akai becomes immune to slow effects and deals 200 (+100% Extra Physical Attack) Physical Damage while continuously knocking back nearby enemies. Opposing Heroes who are knocked back will also apply the same effect to other heroes they come into contact with during this process.

Akai also gradually increases his Movement Speed up to 70% for this duration. This skill can only be cancelled by Suppress and Transform effects. This skill requires 120 Mana with a 55.0-second Cooldown.
