Super Mario Galaxy Movie: Understand the post-credits scenes and the future!

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie arrived in Brazilian cinemas this April 2026 and is already driving fans crazy with so many references. The new adventure takes Mario, Luigi, Peach, and the newcomer Yoshi beyond the galaxy in an impeccable production by Illumination. However, the big question dominating social media is whether the film repeats the tradition of bringing extra scenes after the ending. The answer is positive: the movie features two sequences crucial for the franchise’s future.

In the first sequence, shown in the middle of the credits, Fox McCloud makes a triumphant appearance that stopped movie theaters. The Star Fox protagonist is seen leaving a maximum-security prison with a giant coin, mentioning that “the princess” paid for his services. Soon after, he boards his Arwing and heads into space, leaving a clear hook for new films. Meanwhile, inside the cell, we see Bowser in his Dry Bowser (skeletal) form trying to get organized with Bowser Jr. The comedic and dark moment is courtesy of Lumalee, the nihilistic blue star, who returns to terrorize the villains with her phrases about the inevitable end of everything.

The emergence of a new princess

At the very end of all the credits, the monkey Ukiki tries to escape with stolen items but ends up knocked out by a gloved hand. The surprise reveals Princess Daisy, the classic character from Super Mario Land, who gives a smile and winks at the camera before the screen goes dark. This appearance suggests that Daisy should join the main cast in the next adventure. Due to this introduction, many believe Nintendo could explore the Sarasaland kingdom in a direct sequel, integrating Daisy into the group that already includes Peach and Rosalina.

Will Star Fox get a solo movie?

With Star Fox’s 35th anniversary arriving in 2028, Nintendo seems to be using this film as a gauge for a solo production featuring the pilot. The series has been without new games since Star Fox Zero, released in 2016 for the Wii U, although the Switch received the canceled Star Fox 2 in 2017. Therefore, Fox McCloud’s participation serves as an audience test. If the public reacts well, Nintendo’s cinematic universe could expand far beyond the Mushroom Kingdom, uniting different franchises in a structure similar to what we’ve seen in cinemas in recent years.
