The Brilliant Healer"s New Life in the Shadows, also known as Yami Healer, has just earned a second season. The official announcement came during GA FES 2026, a Japanese anime event held last Sunday. The news, which thrilled the Brazilian otaku community this Tuesday (6), was accompanied by a new promotional video and visual, raising expectations among fans following healer Zenos" saga.
The first season, which premiered in April 2025, tells the story of Zenos, a man born in the slums who overcomes poverty to become a healer. However, despite his talent, his adventuring party abandons him. As a result, he decides to use his self-taught skills to open an underground clinic in the city"s back alleys, earning fame as a genius of healing in the shadows. The popularity of the story, which blends redemption and dark fantasy, is the main reason for the renewal.
Production Details and Where to Watch
With its premiere expected later in 2026, the second season should keep Joe Yoshizaki as director and Taika Miyagi as screenwriter at studio Makaria Inc. The first season is available on Crunchyroll, the platform that usually brings subtitled episodes shortly after they air in Japan. Meanwhile, the original light novel, written by Sakaku Hishikawa, already has eight volumes in Japan and is published in English by J-Novel Club.
The manga adaptation, in turn, has five volumes, and even a webtoon was released in the summer of 2024. As such, Brazilian fans have multiple ways to follow the story before the animation returns. The big question remains: will Zenos truly manage to build a new life and save his patients in a world that always rejected him? The answer will soon reach our screens.
