Kaijū Jieitai, Junya Inoue’s Manga, Enters Its Final Arc in 2026

Kaijū Jieitai, the action and survival manga created by Junya Inoue, famous for Btooom!, has just entered its final arc starting in January 2026. The work, which tells a hyper-realistic global battle against monsters after a catastrophic tsunami in the Pacific, reaches this crucial stage after more than five years of serialization. With its ending expected later this year, this is a moment of great anticipation for Brazilian fans, who have followed the story since its launch.

The story, which moved to a digital format in Comic Bunch Kai magazine in 2024, already has 21 physical volumes published. The transition to the decisive arc comes at a time when the science fiction and action genre is experiencing a new boom in Brazil, thanks to the success of streaming adaptations. In this way, the work’s conclusion promises to deliver answers about humanity’s fate in this apocalyptic scenario, bringing one of the author’s most intense sagas to a fitting close.

The Work’s Journey and Legacy

Since its 54-page prologue chapter, released in 2020, Kaijū Jieitai has won readers over with its tense premise and detailed art. In addition, the series already has a 12-episode anime adaptation, available on Crunchyroll, which expanded its fan base in the country. Meanwhile, author Junya Inoue continues to build a career that includes hits such as Btooom!, a work that also had a dual ending in 2018. The creator’s experience with large-scale narratives therefore suggests a finale worthy of this epic battle against kaiju.

The manga continues serialization in Monthly Comic @Bunch, with its future after the final arc still not fully clarified. However, the news is already fueling discussions in Brazilian online communities about which directions the plot might take. So fans now await the upcoming chapters not only to see the final confrontation but also to find out whether the work will get new media adaptations or continuations. One thing is certain: 2026 will be the year of the climax for this fictional task force fighting for humanity’s survival.
