Gohan Black: The New Dragon Ball Universe Threat Nobody Expected

If you thought you had already seen every possible version of Gohan, get ready: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero brings the unexpected and dangerous Gohan Black. Dragon Ball fans have already seen Goku Black wreak havoc, but an evil Gohan? This version of Gohan is here to challenge everything we knew about the character and the potential he left behind over the course of the series. Ever wondered what would have happened if Gohan had never given up training? That is exactly the “What if?” that Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero explores, and the result does not disappoint.

In the game’s alternate universe, Gohan becomes the most powerful warrior in Universe 7. During the Resurrection F arc, he reaches his full potential and defeats Frieza, something that, in the original timeline, was only possible with the help of Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan Blue forms. Gohan realizes his strength is still not enough and dedicates himself to training with Piccolo, until he surpasses his father and Vegeta. This journey sets off a chain of events that changes everything, putting Gohan on the path to the destiny that was perhaps always his: to be Goku’s true successor.

But who exactly is Gohan Black?

The story gets even more complex when Future Trunks enters the scene, mistaking Gohan for someone else. A villain appears with Gohan’s appearance, but radiating a dark energy. It is Gohan Black, a version of the character corrupted by Zamasu, who, using the Super Dragon Balls, takes over Gohan’s body and eliminates Videl and Pan. Now, the hero must face this macabre version of himself and save the future.

Gohan Black also teams up with Zamasu and embraces the Zero Mortals Plan, plotting to wipe out all humans. His power is raised to never-before-seen levels, with a pinkish aura reminiscent of Goku Black’s transformation, but with Gohan’s own style in his Ultimate form. If you are picturing an epic showdown with Gohan, Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks united to defeat this villain — you are on the right track!

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero reinvents the character, showing the impact Gohan’s power could have across the multiverse. If you are curious to learn more about the alternate stories the game explores, check out our full coverage on Santuário Geek and find out what else awaits in this new adventure.
